Winchester Mystery House

Winchester Mystery House is a historical landmark and tourist attraction located in East San Jose. It was built by Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearm magnate William Wirt Winchester. The house is renowned for its size, its architectural curiosities, and the fact that it is reputedly haunted by the ghosts of those killed by Winchester rifles. From 1886 until her death in 1922, Mrs. Winchester continuously added on to and altered what would become her 160-room mansion.
